Only Canadian competitor in guilt-free ice cream category launches seven new flavours and doubles pint offering

Canada’s homegrown better-for-you ice cream brand, CoolWay, has launched seven new delectable pint flavours for Canadians to enjoy, guilt-free (and quite possibly in one sitting!). Ranging from 280 to 390 calories per 500mL container, and available nationwide, the new CoolWay pint flavours are: Birthday Cake, Cherry Fudge Brownie, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Lemon Cake, Maple Swirl, Mocha Brownie Fudge and Strawberry Cheesecake.

CoolWay has also launched their first-ever guilt-free ice cream bar. The 80-calorie bar is made with 100% Canadian dairy in Halifax, Nova Scotia and comes in two flavours: Cookies & Cream and Salted Caramel. CoolWay bars are easily enjoyed on-the-go, and are now available in Western Canada and soon-to-be-available nationwide (see Availability).

CoolWay has bested global brands such as Unilever (Breyers® delights) and Nestlé (Goodnorth) in market share and is the only Canadian-owned and operated contender in Canada’s competitive and booming guilt-free frozen desserts category. CoolWay is focused on continuing to expand its pint offering as well as launching new product extensions, such as ice cream bars, to capitalize on consumer curiosity and demand for additional better-for-you ice cream options.

Each pint of CoolWay contains up to 28 grams of protein and has 70% less sugar than traditional ice cream (6-8 grams of sugar per pint compared to 26 grams for traditional ice cream). CoolWay’s guilt-free pints contain between 280 and 390 calories—that’s 1,000 calories less per pint than typical ice cream brands. CoolWay is gluten-free, a source of fibre, and made in a peanut-free facility.

CoolWay is available in the freezer aisle at grocery stores nationwide, including:

Walmart, Metro, NoFrills, Longo's, Whole Food Market, Farmboy, FreshCo and select Sobeys stores.

CoolWay pints are now available in 15 delectable flavours: Birthday Cake, Blueberry Waffle Crisp, Cherry Fudge Brownie, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Chocolate, Chocolate Chip, Cookies & Cream, Gingerbread Cookie (seasonal), Lemon Cake, Maple Swirl, Mint Chip, Mocha Brownie Fudge, Salted Caramel, Strawberry Cheesecake, Toasted Coconut Chocolate Chip and Vanilla Bean.

CoolWay ice cream pints range from 280 to 390 calories per 500mL container and have a recommended MSRP of 5.99$.

CoolWay’s guilt-free ice cream bars are currently available at Costco West (BC), and will be available beginning in May 2019 at Metro (Quebec & Ontario). A nationwide launch is planned for Summer 2019.

CoolWay ice cream bars are 80 calories per bar (88 mL per bar), retail in packs of 4 and have a recommended MSRP of Y$ or packs of 12 with a recommended MSRP of $9.99.

About CoolWay

Founded in Montreal’s Plateau neighbourhood, and manufactured in Manitoba and Nova Scotia, CoolWay is 100% Canadian. In 2018, CoolWay launched as the first-ever homegrown, Canadian brand in the budding guilt-free ice cream category, offering seven low-calorie (from 280 calories per pint) and high-protein pints (up-to 28 grams of protein per pint). A year and a-million-pints-sold later, CoolWay was first to launch better-for-you ice cream bars to Canadians, with the launch of their 80-calorie cookies and cream bar, made with 100% Canadian ingredients. CoolWay’s founders Dino, Noah and Ben, are a trio of early-twenty-something entrepreneurs who regularly comb grocery store freezer aisles, enjoy daily ice cream taste tests, and are determined to lead in the better-for-you frozen desserts category. CoolWay remains the only Canadian competitor in the exciting guilt-free ice cream and frozen desserts category, and now offers pints in 15 delectable and totally-edible-in-one-sitting flavours. CoolWay is available in your grocer's freezer aisle nationwide.
